My Short Story
A New Jersey native who suddenly found herself in Central Florida where she began her journey down the rabbit hole into the world of public relations - and she never left!
My career started with one of my dream companies, The Walt Disney Company. During my first years with Disney, my roles were Attractions and Entertainment, which enhanced my love of interacting with the masses and taught me effective communication methods; little did I know at the time how valuable that would be in my future! Over the years, I continued to gain experience in the field of public relations through working in various guest services and communications focused roles with notable companies including LiveNation, non-profit organization Give Kids the World Village, and Loews Hotel. Working for these companies not only gave me great opportunities to further my strengths, but also gave me my first experiences with crisis communication, strategy development, and my one true love: public relations.
Upon graduating from Rollins College with my Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies: Public Relations, I earned an internship role with Universal Orlando Resort on their public relations team where I was honored to help open first of its kind water theme park Universal's Volcano Bay and assist with various media events. My work with Universal Orlando Resort helped cement my love for public relations, and with this new drive in my career, I went on to freelance as a Public Relations Contractor until I found my home at Uproar PR where I was both an Account Coordinator and Account Executive for consumer-facing clients including Special Olympics Florida. My love for the Walt Disney Company brought me back to Disney where I worked on a temporary assignment as a Guest Relations Hostess and got to create real magic for Guests on a daily basis. It wasn't long before another public relations opportunity came up though with Solodev, a software development company which specializes in cloud computing.
With my ability to adapt to any situation, I can work well both independently and with a team. I firmly believe that anyone can be taught a job, but you cannot be taught passion, which is what I have for communication arts and public relations. The opportunities I've been granted have gone beyond my wildest dreams, and my desire to continue to grow and learn in this industry is never-ending. If you can dream it, you can do it, and I dream of building a career out of creating content and experiences that will last a lifetime.
